What's a Cover Letter? For some, writing a cover letter may be difficult, but you would only need the determination to write and a little bit of inspiration to use the right words. A cover letter invites your employer to read your resume; so, don't forget to attach a cover letter to your resume. If you don't do so, you may appear too informal or not interested in getting the job. A cover letter should not be a duplicate of your resume. It doesn't make sense. It is a good idea to review the cover examples that you will read in a minute, in order to have an idea of what you should add in your cover letter. Do not copy them; just use them as a guide. In a cover letter you should add important contact information such as your name, your address, your cell phone number, etc which must be listed at the very start of the cover letter. You must, of course, include salute the person you are writing to. Salutations like "Dear Madam" or "Dear Sir" are excellent options. You must indicate why you are interested in the job position and why you consider yourself qualified enough for the job.
